Mountaineering and Survival School

Flo Adventure provides the most different and complex mountaineering and survival courses in Romania. This school was founded in New Zeeland and continues to function in Romania for over 8 years and the results are very good.
All the courses are held by M.T.S. certified instructors who are very well trained. The charges include the equipment provided for the whole course. Some of the courses we organize every year are:

1.Winter Climbing School (5 days)

It’s a winter school for beginners and experienced climbers where you can learn simple things like hiking in winter or installing your tent on snow and more complex ones like crevasse rescuing, using the ice-axe to stop an uncontrolled downhill slide, ice-climbing and avalanches (“reading” the snow).
This school was founded over 16 years ago as part of the No limits K2 Club in Cluj and for 8 years it has been a part of Flo Adventure. It is still the favorite of the mountaineers who want to learn winter mountaineering techniques.

Price - 160 Euro /pers/5days.

2. ICE CLIMBING (3 days)

This course is held at Rachitele – a region in the Apuseni Mountains and the purpose is to teach ice-climbing techniques or Dry-tooling. It is recommended that those who attend this course already have the basic knowledge in climbing. The course is video taped and every student will receive a DVD.

Course sessions: 15 January-1 March

Price - 120 Euro /pers/3days.
(incl.-Airport transfers, instructor, accomodation in mountain, all climbing equipment except boots and warm clothing)

3. Summer school (5 days) survival and mountaineering

The courses are held at Scarita Belioara – Valea Ariesului and the purpose is to teach survival and mountaineering techniques. During these 5 days every participant learns what to eat and how to find food in the wild. Essential rock-climbing techniques are also taught and hikes are also included. Like the Winter School, the Summer School is also very appreciated by those who want a practical experience of this kind so it is recommended that you sign up in time because there are a limited number of places.
